Waste management for Ecoembes: a collaboration that lasts more than a decade

Our work for Ecoembes includes the characterization of waste, the quality control of recovered materials, training for the correct differentiation and classification of containers in selection plants and the correct management of containers in yellow and blue containers in other facilities.

Since 2011, Eurocontrol has collaborated with Ecoembes projects, mainly in the provision of waste characterization services. The characterizations determine the composition of a waste in different fractions, allowing to know in detail what is being deposited in the selective collection containers and, based on this, take the most appropriate measures for its correct management.

 

Eurocontrol has also collaborated with Ecoembes on other projects, such as the monitoring of waste collection vehicles, the quality control of the containerization service or training on waste in sorting plants and other facilities, the latter essential for correct differentiation and management of packaging waste.

For Ecoembes, the involvement of specialized suppliers, such as Eurocontrol, in the quality monitoring processes of the different management areas of the company is crucial. The aspiration to continuous improvement is not achievable without a professional measurement of the key parameters of the collection and treatment of waste

Ecoembes is a non-profit entity that coordinates the recycling of plastic, metal, brik, paper and cardboard household packaging in Spain and helps companies to integrate ecodesign in the manufacture of their packaging to promote the reduction of the generation of waste, thus contributing to the circular economy. Its management model is based on public-private collaboration, under the principles of efficiency, transparency and technological innovation to achieve the ambitious recycling targets set by the regulations.
