Acoustic Auditing

Any industrial, commercial or service activity that is subject to integrated environmental authorization, environmental license or environmental communication and is likely to generate noise and/or vibrations. Some examples:

 

• Hospitality activities (bars, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, pubs, etc.)
• Bakeries (bakeries, pastry shops, etc.)
• Food (butchers, fishmongers, etc.)
• Clinics (dentist, veterinary, etc.)

• The owners of these activities are required by law to have an acoustic audit in their premises. Otherwise, they are exposed to sanctions by the Administration and possible complaints from neighbors if there are noise disturbances.
  
  

 

Law 7/2002 on Protection against Noise Pollution of December 3, 2007, establishes that the Generalitat and local Administrations may grant financial aid to companies and institutions to carry out audits, subject to the subsequent execution of the measures corrections included in the corresponding reports.

By carrying out the acoustic audit, it is intended to guarantee that levels higher than those established in the current legislation are not transmitted to the outside or to adjoining premises (in the most unfavorable conditions), and thus avoid possible complaints/sanctions against the owners of the activities. 

The acoustic audit can only be carried out by a company accredited by ENAC as an acoustic testing laboratory, and that is registered as a collaborating entity in matters of environmental quality for the field of noise pollution, in accordance with the provisions of Decree 229/2004 , of October 15, of the Consell de la Generalitat, which establishes the functions of collaborating entities in matters of environmental quality.
