Goals

The objectives of the training PRL course for welding and oxy-fuel cutting work. General and specific. :

The objectives of the course are to train students to acquire basic knowledge of occupational risk prevention and to be able to distinguish the different risk situations that arise when carrying out tasks and using work equipment and tools, as well as to learn the specific preventive measures to be applied in each case.

2. Specific section (8 hours)
2.1 Definition of tasks.
Description of safe work procedures and processes for the job.

2.2 Specific preventive techniques.
• Application of the health and safety plan to the specific task.
• Assessment and specific information on risks.
• Specific risks and preventive measures.
• Risks of falling heavy objects. Risk of being struck by objects. Fire risks. Burn risks. Risks from inhaling fumes and gases from welding. Explosion risks in oxyacetylene welding and gas cutting. Skin and eye risks from exposure to radiation. Heat stress. Risks in explosive atmospheres. Risks of electrical contact. Risks arising from the manual handling of loads. Maintenance of welding equipment.
